Taman Seputeh is an established neighbourhood that dates from the 1970s, made up mainly of linked houses and bungalows, and freehold is common there. It sits beside Mid Valley City, with a cross bridge to Mid Valley KTM station. Old Klang Road (Jalan Klang Lama) is the oldest major road in Kuala Lumpur, and it has become a corridor of large masterplanned high-rise developments with shared facilities and a wide range of unit sizes. Tenure and price level differ from project to project, so check each one.

Transport is the main thing to check. No MRT or LRT line runs along Old Klang Road itself. Taman Seputeh has KTM Seputeh and Mid Valley stations nearby, and the MRT Putrajaya Line stations at Kuchai and Taman Naga Emas serve the southern end. Peak-hour jams on Old Klang Road are widely reported, and in 2026 the Seputeh MP asked DBKL to study infrastructure capacity before approving more high-density projects along the corridor. The planned MRT3 Circle Line would add stations such as Jalan Klang Lama and Pantai Dalam, but it is not built, and many masterplans release phases over several years, so supply and rental competition are real factors.

Who it suits

  • Owner-occupiers who want an established neighbourhood or a large home close to Mid Valley and KL Sentral.
  • Buyers who value facilities and a wide choice of unit sizes in a large masterplan, and are happy to drive.
  • Long-term buyers who can wait for infrastructure to improve rather than needing rail at the door today.

Check before you buy

  • Traffic on Old Klang Road at the hours you would actually travel, and the nearest access to the Federal Highway, the New Pantai Expressway or other highways.
  • How you would reach a station: no rail runs along the road, so check the distance to KTM, the Putrajaya Line or the LRT, and whether a feeder bus runs. Do not count on MRT3, which is not built.
  • Tenure, and how much similar new stock is coming nearby. Large masterplans release phases over years, which affects resale and rental competition.
